Group Therapy
Contact MeTogether, we become more whole.
Many of us feel more alone than ever — a symptom of living in a world that moves too fast, values independence and productivity, and often overlooks our deep need for connection. Group therapy offers a space to slow down, come together, and remember that we’re not meant to do this alone.
Here, we listen, share, and witness one another with care and respect. We discover that what we feel is often shared by others — that our struggles are not personal problems to be fixed, but reasonable responses to a complex world. Through presence and compassion, healing unfolds naturally.
Group therapy offers a way to reconnect with yourself and others, to rediscover aliveness, love, and possibility in the midst of uncertainty.
“We need joy as we need air. We need love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.”
Maya Angelou
Why Group Therapy?
A space for healing, practice and belonging.
In a time of increasing isolation and overwhelm, group therapy offers a form of quiet resistance — a way to return to community, to belonging, to the wisdom of relationship.
Here, you may find:
Safety in being seen and accepted as you are.
New ways of relating that feel authentic and alive.
Connection and solidarity in shared struggle and joy.
The courage to bring your whole self into your relationships.
A reminder that healing and change are collective, not individual.
Greater compassion for yourself and others.
A place to practice expressing yourself honestly and listening deeply.
The group becomes a living practice ground — a microcosm of life — where healing unfolds through authenticity, care, and honest relating.
Through the simple act of being together, we begin to restore what has been forgotten: that we heal in relationship, and that no one is meant to walk this life alone.
“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
Helen Keller
What a Group Session Might Look Like
Each group has its own rhythm, shaped by who’s present and what emerges in the moment. While every session is different, most include familiar elements that help build safety, trust, and connection.
You can expect:
Arriving and settling
– beginning with a check-in, taking time to arrive, breathe, and share what’s present for you.
Exploring awareness
– noticing your thoughts, emotions, and body sensations, and how these shift in response to what’s happening within the group.
Relating and reflecting
– using interactions in the group as opportunities to notice patterns, practice honest communication, and explore new ways of being with others.
Listening and responding
– hearing others’ experiences, offering reflections, and discovering how your presence and responses shape the group’s unfolding process.
Experiencing together
– engaging in dialogue, simple exercises, or creative activities that invite curiosity, expression, and experimentation.
Integrating
– closing with space to reflect on what’s emerged, noticing any changes in awareness, connection, or courage, and how these might support life beyond the group.
Every session is held with care and confidentiality – safety and consent are central. There’s no pressure to share more than you wish — your pace and boundaries are always respected. Over time, as trust grows, the group becomes a community of mutual support, where healing and growth unfold through presence, honesty, and the simple act of being together.
Group Offerings
Each group is an invitation to come together in community — to share, witness, and explore in the presence of others.
All groups are grounded in Gestalt principles of awareness, presence, and relational support, and are held in an inclusive, trauma-informed, and non-pathologising way.
Group sizes are small (usually 6–12 people) to ensure safety and depth of connection. Sessions run for around two hours and meet weekly, fortnightly, or monthly depending on the group.
Some groups are ongoing, while others are shorter-term, seasonal, or focused on a particular theme.
Fees range from $30–$60 per session, with lower rates for ongoing groups.
Groups are offered in person in Brisbane and the Northern Rivers (Mullumbimby & Lismore), and online.
Gestalt Therapy Groups
A space for personal and relational exploration. These ongoing groups invite participants to deepen awareness of themselves in relationship — to explore patterns of contact, expression, and connection as they unfold in the here-and-now.
Over time, a strong sense of community develops, offering support, reflection, and the opportunity to practice new ways of being.
Climate Support Groups
For those seeking to share and process their responses to the climate crisis — grief, anger, numbness, hope, confusion, guilt, helplessness, and love for the Earth. All is welcome here.
Through dialogue, expression, and shared witnessing, we cultivate solidarity and remind one another that we do not face these times alone.
Grief & Loss Circles
Spaces to honour and tend to grief in its many forms — personal, collective, ancestral, and ecological.
Drawing on ritual, story, and the wisdom of communal witnessing, these circles offer a compassionate ground for what is too heavy to carry alone. Here, grief becomes an expression of love and connection, rather than something to be fixed or resolved.
Women’s Groups
A supportive space for women to explore the personal and collective realities of being a woman today — within families, communities, and a culture that still too often silences or dismisses our voices.
Together we make space for truth-telling and care — to name and give voice to our experiences, honour our resilience, and stand in solidarity with one another. Here, we make room for our stories, our pain, and our power, knowing that healing grows in the company of others.
